Thank you Hole #4 Volunteers!!!
Thank you Hole #4 Volunteers!!!
Even though golf isin the rear view mirror, I want you to look ahead to 2012 by seeing what your
Club volunteers have done with the Hole # 4 project. Earlier this year we
appointed a committee to start the research on how we can restore our signature
hole so that it can withstand future Spring floods. The man-hours, equipment
and materials utilized to date, conservatively speaking, has a total dollar
value in excess of $50,000.00. We are talking half a dozen dump trucks, 3
tractors w/ implements, a couple of backhoes and an excavator. We are talking
hundreds of tons of donated dirt and sand. We are talking a lot more than what
I have already mentioned. The contouring of the landing area is complete. The
trenching and base work beneath the Green expansion and the drainage designs
are complete.
Next up we have the
sand turf combo coming for the expanded Green, new bridge configuration, and
seeding of the expanded green and green surrounds.
There have been too
many volunteers to thank by name right now. I’d certainly forget somebody and I
don’t want to do that, so I will just take the time to publicly thank the
leaders – Scott Rink, Rick Larson and Alan Bales. Holy Smokes they have been
AWESOME.

My suggestion is to stop out, grab a cart key from
Nancy, and tootle on down for a peak.
